Christmas is a time for celebration, and the festive period is approaching us very quickly. It’s the time of year when you want to get together with your family, friends and loved ones, wind down and have a good time. One thing that is very popular, is Christmas parties. This could be in the form of small family gatherings, work nights out, or big events held in public places.
But, what makes a good Christmas party? Here at Indulge Catering, we’re pro’s in handling all things food related, but there are lots of elements that make up a great festive celebration. We thought we’d give a few suggestions on how to make sure you host the perfect Christmas party!
Christmas music
Who doesn’t love a bit of Christmas music?! It’s the perfect way to get everyone feeling festive and merry. You could even have come karaoke on the go so that people can jump on and sing all of their favourite guilty pleasure Christmas songs.
Get everyone involved
Christmas is all about togetherness, and the most common type of parties during the build up to Christmas, are end-of-year work parties. This is a time for staff to wind down and celebrate after a year of their hard work. These type of parties should be very inclusive, and get all staff involved and wanting to attend. To ensure that this happens, try to make the event as inclusive and appealing to everyone as possible, and have it properly planned out and in place in plenty of time.
Entertainment
It’s always a good idea to have some form of entertainment at Christmas parties. Even if it’s just a DJ, it makes the evening more fun keeps the atmosphere alive throughout the night. You could also plan a few fun games for your guests to get involved with.
Organisation and planning
This is the most important thing when it comes to hosting the perfect Christmas party. You must make sure that everything is considered – how many people will be attending? Where and when will it be held? Is there a theme? What is the budget for the party? We recommend making a list of everything that needs to be decided and put into place, and ticking each thing off as it is completed. This helps you to keep track of everything and ensure that nothing gets missed out. You want this to be a fantastic and memorable night for everyone!
Good catering
This is where we come in. No party is complete without good catering. This could be in the form of a simple buffet, or even a three course meal. One thing that is guaranteed at parties is that your guests will go hungry, so it’s good to think ahead and plan what food you’re going to have on offer for them. Around Christmas time it’s a good idea to have some special festive treats. We try to accommodate all of our clients the best we can, so whatever you have in mind, like some freshly made mince pies perhaps, we would love to help!
