As a business, we are making our own efforts to care for the environment and lower our carbon footprint. This includes using biodegradable products in everything we do, in order to future proof our catering company and ensure that we are doing our bit for the environment.
It is very important to us that we use biodegradable products, because as a catering business, we have to provide lots of packaging with our food when we are catering to events. Therefore, having biodegradable packaging significantly reduces the amount of pollution we have a hand in contributing to.

As we cater to hundreds of events each year, a lot of this involves preparing and delivering buffet food. We had a think and decided that the best thing we could do to lower our carbon footprint, would be to switch the packaging we use so that it is biodegradable and can be recycled.
This has helped Indulge Catering to become more eco-friendly and keeps us more socially aware of the changes we should make in order to look after our environment and lower the amount of waste we produce.

The perks of using biodegradable products
Using biodegradable products has all kinds of different benefits. Plastic is overused and very harmful to our environment when not recycled. If plastic is not disposed of properly, it actually takes hundreds of years to break down naturally. Furthermore, there is so much plastic that ends up in the ocean, which is also incredibly dangerous to the wildlife. Biodegradable products are a fantastic alternative as they do not cause pollution, nor do they take hundreds of years to decompose naturally.
The best thing about biodegradable products is that they are easy to recycle and they decompose very quickly. They also consume a lot less energy because of the materials used to make them. It lowers petroleum consumption as this is what is used a lot in normal plastics, however biodegradable materials are made using better alternatives. As well as this, they reduce carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas levels.
